Baseline Data
The first priority in business intelligence is finding the truth. Step one is evaluating the existing analytics data for accuracy and completeness. We almost always find facepalm-level omissions and errors.
Plug The Holes
Most configurations that have not been carefully set up have dramatic omissions and/or errors. That said, there are few that are fundamentally not fixable, and we can meaningfully close the gap quickly on even the difficult areas. This is a quantum leap in usable data.
Tune The Machine
Having accurate data, often for the first time, we set up usable automated data. This can be in the form of emailed reports, “always on” digital dashboards, and reporting. We set up a clear, functional view with the metrics you care about for topline performance and more detailed views for tuning various areas (like social, content, PPC). These become the guideposts. This is the last phase because it iterates and continually improves.
